The outreaching of support from all residents, committee membersm sponsors, volunteers, Fire Departments and speakers is to be commended.
On behalf of Council and staff of the Township of South Stormont, we extend our gratitude as well as a very deserving thank you to any and all participating individuals for your dedication, commitment and countless hours of planning and preparation to allow the Township of South Stormont to host "Beacon 50".
This event has united our community by merging families of the past with those of the present, a timeless, ageless celebration lighting our future path. It has encouraged tourism and economic development as well as re-discovering the rich history our Township has to offer. Over a period of six days, extremely well organized activities were positively received by all, each focusing on various themes. The lighting of the six Beacons was definitely a unique and memorable occasion.
Once again, we express our appreciation to you for being a part of an event of this magnitude.
